Using Google My Business to get booked up!

Your local clientele is very important to your business. With people now shopping locally and supporting small businesses more than ever before, there is a benefit to showing your business as part of the community.

A great way to start this is to get your business on Google My Business and make sure it is fully visible when people search for keywords relating to your business.

Make sure all of your details are correct - email, phone number, address.

Opening hours - make sure these are up to date and if you are closed for holidays - make sure you update this too so people don’t show up and get frustrated.

Put your website in to make sure people come through to your own platform and you can convert them from there.

If you have an appointment system, pop the link for it in there too so they can book in straight from your Google page.

You can also connect platforms such as Facebook, Yell and Groupon to show that you have good reviews on other websites as well as Google to build trust.

Speaking of while, make it a part of your in-store and social strategy to get clients to review you on Google and Facebook to build up your reviews. This can be a high deciding factor whether a new client will book with you - they will go through and read reviews, and if they like what they see, they will come and book with you. This is a great converter so it’s important to nurture it. Handle all bad reviews well and make sure to take negotiations off your Google page.

Lastly, make sure you keep your photos, offers, and page in general updated regularly - set aside time to pop up your monthly offers, update your befores and afters, and make sure current pictures of your salon and staff are up there too.

This is a secret weapon for many salons. To attract new clients, you need to be using Google to attract new clients in your area and further afield. Make it yours and you will rise above your competitors!
